Zaagi’ine Gamig — Place That Gives Love
Welcome to Zaagi’ine Gamig
Zaagi’ine Gamig — Place That Gives Love is the home of Quilts for Survivors in South Porcupine (Timmins), Ontario.
This is where our staff and volunteers come together to sew donated quilt blocks into full quilts, longarm, bind, pack, and ship quilts to Survivors and families across Canada.
We host studio days, volunteer quilting, and community sewing gatherings. Whether you’re dropping off donations, volunteering, or coming to learn, you are welcome here.
Studio Schedule
Our studio calendar is updated monthly—please check it for closures, workshop days, and special events. Closures and updates are also posted on our Facebook.
Our hours are 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays unless stated otherwise.
Summer hours are from June 1st to September 1st.
Unless stated otherwise, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Our studio is a busy place full of creativity and care. We sew, longarm, bind quilts, sort fabric, and prepare shipments. You might also find a cup of coffee on the table and moments for ceremony, including smudging.

Sew Retro
Sew Retro is a fundraiser in support of Quilts for Survivors at the Porcupine Dante Club on Saturday, April 25th (doors open at 8PM). Tickets include a candy bar and poutine, plus raffles, giveaways, a quilt raffle, and door prizes.

Class Quilt 2025-2026
Our Class Quilt runs from September 2025 to June 2026.
Join us for 10 quilting classes with Vanessa—each class includes time to chat, ask questions, and learn together. Every session is recorded and available afterward, so you can watch (or rewatch) anytime at your own pace.
Cost: $5 per class.
The full series is available for a $50 registration fee.
Your registration helps support shipping quilts to Survivors.

Sign Up for Classes
Never quilted before? Want to re-learn or sharpen your skills? You’re in the right place. We offer one-on-one (or small group) classes in person or over Zoom for 1–3 people.
You can also join our Class Quilt series on Zoom (September–June), or our Monthly Intro to Sewing group classes.
Longarm Training
Learn the basics of longarm quilting through hands-on instruction.
Specialty classes are also available—please inquire for details.
Fees: $300 and up.
Please note: we are not accepting longarm quilting orders at this time.
AccuQuilt Training
You must complete a quick training with staff before using the machine.
Please contact us to schedule a date and time.
The AccuQuilt uses special dies and equipment that are sharp and heavy. All fabric must be ironed before use.
Specialty Classes
We offer a variety of specialty quilting classes, including: using a panel, Jelly Roll Race quilts, Star Blanket workshops, appliqué, and foundation paper piecing.
To see when the next class is running, please contact us below. If you have a group interested in a specific class, let us know—we may be able to schedule one.
Fees: All specialty classes have a fee, starting at $50.
Rent Our Studio!
Want to host a workshop, meeting, or small event? We have the perfect space! Our studio includes a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a comfortable setup for gatherings, classes, and community activities.
Prices vary based on your needs and booking time.
